More than 500 years ago, Italian List of maritime explorers Columbus discovered the New World. At that time, the sails used by sailing ships were made of a very tough and practical rough fabric. This rough fabric originated in a small town in NIMES, France, so it was named "Serge De Nimes" in French and later abbreviated as DENIM.
And three hundred and sixty years later, Levi Strauss, a Jewish businessman in the United States, introduced a rough canvas fabric to the United States, creating a historic chapter in jeans and establishing a mythological kingdom of cowboy culture.
The mythological kingdom of Levi's denim began in San Francisco, USA, where the rough canvas used to make tents was used to create the first Levi's denim for miners at that time. A tough and durable work suit, which was very suitable for workers' needs, quickly gained popularity and sparked a series of evolution. The jeans were initially predominantly coffee colored, but later changed to a dark blue twill denim fabric.
Denim is mainly made of cotton, and also develops to use a variety of raw material structures, including cotton, wool, silk, hemp natural fiber blends, chemical fiber blends, and elastic yarn, tight twist yarn, fancy yarn, etc. as raw materials. The higher the content of spandex fiber, the greater the elasticity. There are various specifications of yarn count, such as 7 * 7, 7 * 6, 7 * 8, 10 * 7, etc. The organizational structure is generally twill (2/1, 3/1, 1/3), broken twill, and the radial tightness is greater than the weft direction.
The color of Denim has developed from vulcanization and indigo to light blue, black, white and color.
There are many finishing processes for Denim, which is an important part of developing Denim series. Among them, there are mainly enzymes, stone grinding, sandblasting, cat whiskers, silicone oil, bleaching, coloring, and snowflake washing.
