The most common types of textile fibers used to make jacquard are cotton, silk and synthetic fibers. In some cases, textile manufacturers may also use wool to create jacquard fabrics, but wool yarns are usually reserved for tapestries.
China is the world's largest producer of raw cotton fiber, and China is also the largest producer of finished cotton apparel. China is also the world leader in silk production, the country producing the most synthetic fibers.
On the other hand, Australia produces more wool than any other country. However, Australian wool producers often send their yarn or raw fibres to China for finishing. Therefore, most of the jacquard fabrics are produced in China.
