jacquard fabrics today
Jacquard looms have changed dramatically over the years. Textile manufacturers no longer use serial punched cards to operate these looms, instead, jacquard looms are operated by computer programs. Known as computerized jacquard looms, these advanced textile machines reduce labor input and make the weaving process of jacquard fabrics more efficient and economical.

Jacquard fabrics have fallen out of favor as apparel textiles in recent decades. However, this gorgeous fabric is becoming more and more popular in the homeware sector, where high-end furniture is often decorated with jacquard. The second most popular application of jacquard in home furnishings is curtains or drapes, closely followed by duvets. Although the cost of production has been greatly reduced since the advent of the computerized jacquard loom, jacquard fabrics are still associated with the luxury of high society to this day.
