Fleece Fabrics - All you need to know

1. Definition and Appearance of Coral Fleece
Coral fleece (English name: coral fleece/coral velvet) is a new type of fabric. Its appearance characteristics can be imagined from its name. It is colorful, has good coverage, and is a coral-like textile fabric with a body as light and soft as living coral.

2. Raw materials and manufacturing process of coral fleece
1. Raw materials
- Common coral fleece uses polyester fiber DTY150d/288f and DTY150d/144f as raw materials. This raw material lays the foundation for the unique performance of coral fleece.
2. Manufacturing process
- Generally, coral fleece needs to go through white grey cloth → unwinding → sewing head → pre-setting → hemming → dyeing → softening → dehydration → edge pulling → drying → napping → combing → shearing → shaking → shaping → finished product rolling and other processes. In the dyeing process, low-temperature dyeing is usually used for light colors, medium-temperature dyeing is used for medium colors, and high-temperature dyeing is used for dark colors.

III. Advantages of coral fleece
1. Soft touch
- Due to its fine monofilament fineness and small bending modulus, coral fleece fabric has outstanding softness, feels soft and delicate, and gives people a very comfortable touch.
2. Good coverage
- The density between fibers is high and the specific surface area is large, which makes coral fleece have good coverage and can cover the surface of objects better.
3. Good wearability
- The fiber has a large specific surface area, so it has a high wicking effect and breathability, and is comfortable to wear. Moreover, because the fiber fabric is soft, it can fit closely with the object being wiped, and has a good cleaning effect.
4. Good optical properties
- Because the fiber has a large specific surface area, the light reflection on the surface of the fiber assembly is poor, so the fabric made of this fiber has a light and soft color.
5. Excellent water absorption performance
- The water absorption performance of coral fleece is very good, and its water absorption performance is three times that of all-cotton products.

IV. Disadvantages of coral fleece
1. Easy to generate static electricity
- During use, coral fleece is prone to static electricity, especially in a dry environment, such as the indoor environment in winter.
2. There is hair loss
- Due to the weaving principle, coral fleece will shed hair. It is recommended to wash it with water before wearing (the skin is dry in winter, you can apply moisturizer before wearing, or use anti-static detergent when washing). And because of the shedding of floating hair, it is recommended that skin allergies and asthma should avoid wearing this fabric.

V. Application fields of coral fleece
1. Home textile field
- In the home textile industry, coral fleece is becoming more and more popular. A large number of coral fleece bedding products have emerged on the market, such as coral fleece blankets, quilts, pillows, sheets, pillowcases and bedding four-piece sets. These products are deeply trusted by consumers and are gradually replacing traditional bedding.
2. Clothing field
- Mainly used for nightgowns, baby products, children's clothing, pajamas, shoes and hats, etc. Coral fleece has a soft texture and is very suitable for making these clothes that require soft and comfortable fabrics, especially pajamas and nightgowns, which can bring people a warm and comfortable wearing experience.
3. Other fields
- Coral fleece can also be used in toys, car interior decorations, crafts, home accessories and other fields. In toy making, the softness of coral fleece can make the toy feel better; in car interior decorations, it can increase the warmth in the car; in crafts and home accessories, its colorful and soft characteristics can also play a good decorative role.

VI. Cleaning and maintenance of coral fleece
1. Washing
- The washing temperature should not exceed 30 degrees. Families with conditions should put coral fleece products in a laundry bag. Please use neutral detergent and add an appropriate amount of softener. Do not bleach or dry clean.
2. Drying
- Do not expose it directly to the sun, but dry it slowly in the shade.
3. Storage
- After drying, the products should be folded and placed in a dry place. Remember not to pile heavy objects on the coral fleece products, otherwise they will deform. In addition, mothballs, fresheners, and dehumidifiers should not come into close contact with coral fleece products.
